The mission of Energy Policy TV is education.
Until now, the way to learn about policy-creation was to subscribe to expensive
journals. These journals told you how they viewed the events they cover, often quoting
original sources.
This is no longer sufficient. Transparency in the policy process is required to assess
complex and urgent issues such as energy and the environment.
Energy Policy TV is changing the way you get your news and information by delivering ONLY
original sources--thousands of them. You will never see us "reporting" on what someone
said; instead you will see that person saying it. It is significant that we deliver
these original sources in video. This allows you, for the first time, to get a true
sense of the context in which events transpire. No journal or transcript can do that.
We do not comment or editorialize on any content. That is up to you. We have no agenda
other than providing as much relevant news and information as possible, which we offer as
a free public service with no requirement for subscriptions, passwords or logins.
By delivering free and public access to who is advocating what, why, and how, we are
providing much-needed transparency to all sides of the issues. We believe our new,
public-spirited approach will encourage more intelligent debate and spur better
policy-making concerning energy and the environment.
"Energy Policy TV" could just as easily be called
Environment Policy TV . The issues
are inextricably conjoined, and we cover both equally. We chose "Energy" because it is
shorter. Also, though "Policy" is in our name, we provide as much business news and
information as policy. Again, policy and private sector developments are deeply linked,
one pushing the other by various degrees through continuous cycles. To cover one without
covering the other would make no sense.
America has reached a tipping point concerning energy and the environment. Debates are
intensifying, and markets are responding by advancing and retreating. The question is,
what are our next steps and how will we get there?
Energy Policy TV is now the website that takes you to our future.
